聖書はキリスト教の聖典であり、いくつかの文書群からなる。英語の音訳から、バイブル(the Bible)とも言う。バイブルは biblia (書物の意、複数形）から来た語で4世紀ごろからそのように呼んだ。旧約聖書(Old Testament)と新約聖書(New Testament)からなる。キリスト教では、イエス・キリスト以前の預言者と神の契約、つまりユダヤ教の聖書を旧約と言い、キリスト以降のキリストの言葉や奇蹟を弟子達がキリストの死後書いたものを新約聖書と称している。

"This has been one of my most useful apps in learning Japanese so far. It's nice that you can optionally turn on English translation if you're stuck. My one suggestion is to add the ability to listen to individual verses rather than having to listen from the beginning of the chapter every time, which gets annoying. Also, some verses only have the female voice for some reason."
